Elkhart County, IN

Elkhart County is very valuable to the economy of Indiana. Being huge in the RV business and the farming community, she is a important to Lagrange, Kosciusko, and St. Joseph Counties as well as those driving from Michigan to work here.

The big cities of South Bend and Mishawaka feel that they can bully Elkhart County to into coming on board with the Central Time Zone. How can Elkhart County do this to their other neighbors?

In my work place the workers that come from Lagrange and Kosciusko Counties out number those coming from St. Joe County.

Indiana Massacre

With pushing Indiana into daylight savings, the communities have been devouring one another trying to choose which time zone to be in. What is better for business (so they say) is pushing out personal perference.

So if we are going to do what is better for business, why are we cutting up Indiana right down the jagged middle? Where is the wisdom in this?
"Personally, I think it's not any way to run a time zone debate," says Yoder. "We've encouraged our citizens to contact their state legislators and tell them we need to move as a state, not just county by county and create this ugly line down through the state of Indiana that splits us into two time zones."

Finally, one very small bit of wisdom here.
